Another Man Holding BB Gun Killed by Cops

Cops in Baytown shot and killed an unarmed man overnight after he allegedly waived what appeared to be an AR15 assault rifle. Investigators say it turned out to be an air-powered pellet gun.

Police were called to the intersection of West Texas and Gaillard just after midnight. They were told a man wearing camouflage was standing in the middle of the street.

The officer said the suspect was carrying a rifle in a “low ready” position and ignored orders to drop it as he walked away. After two more commands, the officer said the suspect turned around and pointed the gun at him so he shot him.

The suspect, 21-year-old Benjamin Quezada, died at the scene.

Quezada had a prior charge of evading arrest in November 2014.

The shooting is being investigated by Baytown police and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
