No Arrests Made or Charges Yet Filed Against People Taken By Ferguson SWAT

FERGUSON, Mo. — Police stormed into a home in Ferguson this morning hoping to find the person who shot two police officers during a protest around midnight. The protest took place outside the Ferguson police department, and the shooting happened as the protest was winding down and coming to an end.

Reports from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch show officers made three arrests during the home invasion. Police said that they were questioning the three, but they were not under arrest. The police gave no further details.

A SWAT team surrounded a brick bungalow on Dade Avenue in Ferguson, about four blocks from the police department. Officers stormed the house a 9:30 this morning with dogs. A neighbor said he saw police bring two men out of the home. The woman who neighbors say rents the home was also brought out in handcuffs.

Another neighbor heard the police speak about another person they believed was hiding in the attic. The SWAT team attempted to enter the attic from the roof, but brought nobody else out of the home without bringing anyone else out.

Bruce Patterson, a neighbor who lives across the street from the home that was raided, gave his reaction to seeing the police outside: “Panic.”

“I couldn’t believe it. All along I’ve thought, they’re protesting four blocks away at the police station, keep it away. And guess what? It’s here.”
