Idaho Cops Not Charged One Year After Shooting And Killing Mentally Ill Pregnant Woman

About a year ago, Bonner County sheriff’s officials identified the woman who was shot and killed by cops as Jeanetta Marie Riley.  She was shot outside of Bonner General Health, a local hospital.

Riley, formerly known as Jeanetta Maddox, was reportedly shot in the chest while wielding a knife and refusing Sandpoint Police officers’ commands to drop the weapon.

Riley was a married mother who resided southwest of Priest River.  She had a history of mental problems and domestic abuse.

The two cops responsible for her death were never charged with a crime; a year later questions about the use of deadly force within 15 seconds of showing on the scene, and using an AR15 as the primary weapon to handle a mentally ill patient in distress still remain.
