parenting-hands-holiding

I was approached by my source in early June of 2015. Understandably he was distraught while explaining the details of his predicament. He fell in love with, and had seemingly fathered a child with a Taiwanese-American lady in California named Emily Hsuan Yeh. Their relationship quickly turned sour when, during his online activities, the Harvard MBA uncovered that she was married to Paul Battaglia and mothered two children with two other men.

Paul filed for dissolution of this marriage in Los Angeles on 8/29/2006, but the proceedings were discontinued, and the case is still pending. (Los Angeles Superior Court, case BD452042)

Outraged, my source found that in 2010, Emily had a baby boy fathered by Marc Lajoie, a co-worker at a Hong Kong based entertainment company called El-Live. All three remained in Asia 2014. Marc and Emily are still connected and both still work at El-Live.

Emily, according to my source, gained unlawful access to my source’s email accounts, impersonating him to gain information about my source, contacting his ex-wife and friends.

My source filed a complaint with the F.B.I. who refused to investigate according to him, because “no monetary damage done”.

Emily, in her line of work, travels the globe to different music events. She fled the country to avoid court mandated paternity test orders after the babies birth, and went back to her home of Taiwan.

The loophole that allowed her to flee the country with child without the father’s consent is an all-to-often used one. Basically, in the United States of America, if the father is not listed on the birth certificate, and the baby has never been proven to be his by paternity DNA testing, then the father has no inherent rights over the child in question.

This loophole allowed Emily to escape the orders of the court, and seek refuge overseas, much to the dismay of the distraught father, who only want’s to see his daughter.

According to my source, she has repeatedly performed these actions, and may be suffering sever bi-polar disorder, and other personality disorders in which she allegedly sought professional help for.

They are currently in a heated court battle, and more information can be found at emilyhsuanyeh.com

Reddit CEO Ellen Pao Alienating Users in Droves https://truthvoice.com/2015/06/reddit-ceo-ellen-pao-alienating-users-in-droves/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=reddit-ceo-ellen-pao-alienating-users-in-droves Sat, 13 Jun 2015 08:56:30 +0000 http://truthvoice.com/2015/06/reddit-ceo-ellen-pao-alienating-users-in-droves/

Ellen-Pao-and-reddit-censorship-620x385

When failed discrimination plaintiff Ellen Pao was appointed CEO of Reddit last January, many predicted that it would herald a new age of censorship on the link-sharing and discussion site. Those predictions appear to have come true, as a number of communities on the site (known as “subreddits”) have just been unilaterally shut down.

The sudden move resulted in the removal of one popular subreddit, /r/fatpeoplehate, which until its closure was the 13th-most active community on Reddit. The subreddit was dedicated to mocking fat people and the “fat acceptance” movement, although it was not known for engaging in any off-site harassment. Other Redditors have cited the subreddit as an important source of motivation to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

The crackdown came after a week of censorship on Reddit, including the mass deletions of links to media stories and even satirical cartoons concerning CEO Ellen Pao. There was also a bizarre incident in which a moderator of a gaming community demanded a user write a 500-word essay on trans acceptance before being unbanned. The user’s crime was using the word “trap”: a common, but not derogatory, term of Internet slang to describe crossdressers. Despite protestations from transwomen who said they were not offended, the moderator refused to relent.

There are early indications that the Reddit admins may have finally crossed the Rubicon on the road to alienating their user base. User activity on their main competitor, Voat.co had been rising steadily since social media censorship became an issue during the #GamerGate controversy, but in the past few hours their figures have skyrocketed.  At the time of writing, there are over 3,700 active users on Voat’s alternative to /r/fatpeoplehate —almost double its number of subscribers.

An alternative to /r/fatpeoplehate has also sprung up on Reddit, although it is unclear how long it will be allowed to remain. Activity on /r/KotakuInAction, a #GamerGate subreddit with a reputation for anti-censorship, has also surged.

Reaction from Reddit’s user base appears to be overwhelmingly negative. The top-voted comment underneath the administrators’ announcement points out a number of other subreddits that have not been banned. These include the racist subreddit /r/coontown, and the notoriously pro-censorship /r/shitredditsays, which was recently found to be the “most toxic Reddit community”  (where toxicity was measured by comments attacking other users).

With only the vaguely-defined criteria of “harassment” to guide their actions and scant warning given to the banned subreddits and their users, the widespread perception of Redditors is that the admins are behaving arbitrarily. In just over an hour, over 2,500 comments have appeared underneath the admins’ announcement post, with the vast majority offering negative sentiments. Link submissions attacking the decision have also surged to the top of /r/all, the famous “front page of the internet”.

Minecraft creator Markus Persson comments on Reddit’s censorship.

Reddit’s turmoil will surely please web culture bloggers who have at times appeared hellbent on the site’s destruction. BuzzFeed blogger Ryan Broderick has previously cited Reddit as part of the “white male Internet” that needed to be “bulldozed.” The Washington Post‘s Caitlin Dewey, who has cited Broderick as a source, also seems rather keen on on the downfall of Reddit. This is to say nothing of Gawker Media, which has been trashing the site for years. These columnists have much in common with /r/ShitRedditSays, a controversial community that built its reputation by attacking the culture of the wider Reddit community.

The danger for Reddit now lies in the rapid mobilisation of its large constituency of anti-censorship users. If the membership surges on Voat and the anti-censorship subreddits can be converted into an organised boycott movement, it may cause Reddit’s status as the “front page of the Internet” to quickly become a passing memory.

After months of quietly smoldering resentment from her user base, Ellen Pao’s relentless march towards a more censorious Reddit has sparked a digital riot. The question that observers of web culture will be asking is: could it turn into a long-term revolt on the scale of #GamerGate?

I, for one, wouldn’t bet against it. The direction taken by Reddit’s leadership is fundamentally at odds with the values of its userbase —and no amount of “Ask Me Anything” sessions will bridge the gulf.

Student Accused of Rape By ‘Mattress Girl’ Sues Columbia U., Publishes Dozens of Damning Texts https://truthvoice.com/2015/04/student-accused-of-rape-by-mattress-girl-sues-columbia-u-publishes-dozens-of-damning-texts/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=student-accused-of-rape-by-mattress-girl-sues-columbia-u-publishes-dozens-of-damning-texts Fri, 24 Apr 2015 10:24:23 +0000 http://truthvoice.com/2015/04/student-accused-of-rape-by-mattress-girl-sues-columbia-u-publishes-dozens-of-damning-texts/

Paul Nungesser, the Columbia University student accused of raping fellow student Emma Sulkowicz, is now suing the university for doing nothing to stop Sulkowicz’s harassment campaign against him, which he claims “effectively destroyed” his college experience, reputation, and future career prospects.

His lawsuit contains a wealth of new information about the contested sexual assault, including dozens of messages establishing Sulkowicz’s sexual “yearning” for Nungesser, which she sent to him both before and after the alleged incident. (Full text of the lawsuit here, courtesy of KC Johnson.)

Sulkowicz and Nungesser initially became friends at Columbia, developing an intimate relationship that involved several sexual encounters and frequent discussions of sex and relationships. Eventually, she accused him of choking, attacking, and anally raping her. Nungesser was cleared by Columbia’s sexual assault adjudication process (the police later declined to pursue charges, citing a lack of probable suspicion), which prompted Sulkowicz to go public with her claims and start carrying her mattress everywhere she went as a form of protest against what she viewed as a miscarriage of justice. She became something of a spokesperson for rape victims, and was even invited to attend the State of the Union address with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York).

There were reasons to doubt Sulkowicz’s claims. Reason contributor Cathy Young outlined some of them in a detailed piece for The Daily Beast. Perhaps most damning for Sulkowicz’s credibility are friendly messages she sent him, and continued to send, even after he allegedly raped her.

Now there are more reasons. Many more. The lawsuit contains additional correspondence unreported thus far—much of it crude, although relevant to the incident. Sulkowicz broached several sexual topics with Nungesser: she talked to him about whether her boyfriend was using protection (with her, and with the other women he was sleeping with at the time), she asked Nungesser whether he was dating or sleeping with anyone, and she implied an interest in anal sex (she texted him “fuck me in the butt”). After Nungesser and Sulkowicz began sleeping together, the lawsuit asserts that Sulkowicz “asked Paul to engage in anal sex with her.”

Emma Sulkowicz carried around a mattress at Columbia University. She was sued by the student accused of rape in April 2015

None of that proves one way or another whether Sulkowicz consented to sex on the evening that he allegedly raped her, of course. It’s possible that Sulkowicz withdrew her consent and Nungesser continued—in brutal, violent fashion. But taken together, the messages she continued to send him even after he allegedly attacked her—as well as some of her demonstrably false assertions, including that she never brought up anal sex with him—certainly look bad for her.

But Nungesser’s lawsuit isn’t against Sulkowicz—it’s against the university, for first failing to protect him from her smear campaign, and then turning “into an active supporter” of it. (The Washington Examiner’s Ashe Schow explains why Nungesser isn’t suing Sulkowicz here.) Of particular importance is the fact that Sulkowicz transformed her rape allegation and subsequent activist efforts into an art project for Columbia course credit. Jon Kessler, the university professor who signed off on the “Mattress Project,” is one of the defendants, along with Columbia President Lee Bollinger, the trustees, and the university itself.

According to the lawsuit:

As a result of Defendants’ actions, Paul’s entire social and academic experience at Columbia has suffered tremendously. In adherence to Columbia’s Confidentiality Policy, he did not discuss any of the investigations with any of his classmates. Yet Emma did the exact opposite, gaining support from classmates, professors, the administration, and President Bollinger. Emma has not faced any consequences for breaching the confidentiality policy.

Silenced, and also enduring suspensions and increasing ostracism from his two main social activities (ADP and the Columbia Outdoor Orientation Program (“COOP”)), Paul’s social life crumbled to the point of isolation. Even after being cleared of the outrageous allegation, no serious attempt was ever made by the university to rehabilitate him within those groups. Day-to-day life is unbearably stressful, as Emma and her mattress parade around campus each and every day.

Due to this ostracism, and threats to Paul’s physical safety, University resources such as dorms, libraries, dining halls, and the gym are not reasonably available for Paul’s access. Even attending classes has become problematic, as he has endured harassment and has had his photo taken against his will while in class.

The ordeal has certainly made life a living hell for Nungesser; whether that entitles him to any relief from Columbia, I can’t say.

I can say that those in the media who uncritically re-reported Sulkowicz’s claims and gave credence to her antics should be feeling rather ashamed of themselves. With each new development, this story begins to look more and more like a Rolling Stone job.
